Crafts for kids Design a T- shirt

Craft for Kids

Design a T-Shirt

There is nothing better when considering giving a gift than making your own unique one. Your crafty kids or their friends will love these t-shirts. They are colorful, fun and one of the best craft ideas I have had the pleasure of making with my daughter.

So use that creative flair to transform a plain and ordinary t-shirt into a truly original one. All you need is tape, stickers, paint and a bit of imagination.

To create this fabulous craft project you will need:

Plain t-shirt (any colour)
Masking Tape
Scissors
Fabric Paint
Sponges cut into cubes for dabbing
Stickers
Foil tray
And an Iron (adults use only)

How to make the masking tape T-shirt

Lay the T-shirt flat and stick strips of masking tape onto the T-shirt in any design you like
Place your choice of coloured fabric paint into the foil tray
Dab fabric paint on and around the bits of masking tape with a cubed sponge
Leave the paint to dry and then carefully peel off the bits of masking tape
Turn the T-shirt inside out and ask an adult to iron over the design to fix it in place.

How to make the sticker T-shirt

Lay the T-shirt flat and apply the stickers in any way you like
Dab fabric paint on and around the stickers with a sponge and leave to dry

Peel off the stickers. Turn the T-shirt inside out and ask an adult to iron over the design.

Kids crafts how to make a paper plate mobile

Kids Crafts

Paper Plate Mobile

So summer is nearly here and it’s time to start thinking of things to decorate the garden and if you’re crafty kids are anything like my daughter they’ll just love creating this craftacular wind mobile.

To make the Wind Mobile you will need the following items form your craft supply cupboard:

Paper Plate
Bubble wrap (for the tentacles)
Coloured card or paper
Acrylic Paint
Black marker pen
Paint brush
Glue stick
String
Sticky tape
Scissors

How to make your Wind Mobile

Take your paper plate and paint it (any colour) and set it aside to dry.
Cut your bubble wrap into strips (8) to form the tentacles and paint these in alternate colours. Set aside to dry.
Draw several different sizes of circles on the coloured card or paper and cut these out for decoration.
Next draw two circles to form the ‘eyes’ on white paper and colour in the center with the marker pen, cut these out.
Next draw an arc shape to form the mouth. Cut this out.

Assemble

At this stage your paper plate and tentacles should now be dry.
Turn the paper plate over and attach the tentacles in a circle to the back of the plate using the sticky tape.
Cut a 10 com piece of string loop it and stick it to the top of the plate using the sticky tape.
Turn the plate back over and use the glue stick to attach the coloured ‘scales’, eyes and mouth.
Your wind mobile is now complete and ready to hang in the garden.

If you’re kids are feeling slightly more creative get them to add coloured gems or glitter to add a just a little but more sparkle.

Easter Arts and Crafts

Easter arts and crafts

I have always loved Easter because you know summer is just around the corner the sun is about to shine and the flowers are begging to bloom which gives you that happy feeling and a perfect back drop for all the Easter egg hunts, rolling of eggs and chocolate munching your heart could desire and what better way to celebrate than make something a little bit special and a little bit different with your Crafty Kids this Easter.

With loads of people focusing on eggs, bunnies and chicks why don’t you make a gift with a difference this Easter? Make your loved one a special bunch of GIANT Easter Rroses (or just one). What says I love you more?

I have completed a step by step guide Giant Roses on how to make these fabulous flowers  and hope you enjoy making them as much as me and wee G.

** (please note you can use tissue paper if you have no crepe paper but you need to be more delicate as it rips easily)

Thought for the day:

Is there ever a holiday or special occasion that doesn’t involve chocolate??
